Money Magazine’s latest projections for some of the Nation’s largest metro areas places Corvallis, OR as a top gainer in real estate price appreciation for the period Q1 2010 – Q1 2011 at average price increases of 4.1%.  Good numbers in a sluggish economy, but fairly close to expected numbers in a “typical” year.  Eugene, OR ranks #25 at 1.6%

  •  Anonymous donor has given the Club a $20,000 dollar-for-dollar matching grant
  •  Monies to be matched must be “new” – new donor or increase from last year’s gift
  •  New money must be received by April 1 in order to be matched

Samples of Gift Opportunities:

$25: Annual scholarship for one member
$155: Scholarship for annual membership and one sport
$250: 20 basketballs, 20 fly-tying vises, or Coffee Shop supplies
$500: Indoor soccer set or Lego robotics set
$1,000: Programming for one child for one year
$2,500: Supplies for the art center for one year
$20,000: All staff for one area of the Clubhouse for one year

Corvallis High School Wins Green Competition!

How much fun is it to see the kids in our community doing a great job!  Congratulations to Corvallis High School for winning $20,000 through Wal-Mart’s “Earth Day Every Day School Challenge”. They’ll be able to use the money towards making CHS more green and eco-friendly. Just another step towards making our community a better place to live!

Corvallis Oregon Event–Da Vinci Days Art Project

One of the very best things that happens in Corvallis in the summer is Da Vinci Days.  Along with the festival celebrating Art, Science and Technology.  Held the third weekend in July, it’s a blast.

I think one of the best things about the festival is the community art project.  Come one and all, this year’s community art project is about the “big fish”  Make one, display it and come look at the ones that others create.  Here’s the link to all the festival information.
